The SGIC Alumni App (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Access

• Camera: Used only when you choose to take a photo or video for posts, profile images, or to scan QR codes for authentication. We do not store or transmit camera data without your consent.
• Microphone: Used only when you record voice or video content within the app. Audio is stored locally or uploaded to our servers only when you choose to post or share it.
• Photos, Videos, and Audio Files: Accessed only when you select media from your device to upload or share. The app uses Android’s scoped storage and the MediaStore API to securely access user-selected media files. The app does not access or scan other files on your device.
• Storage: Used for saving temporary files and cached content within app-specific storage only. The app does not request or use “All Files Access” permissions.
• Internet: Required to connect to our servers for authentication, content sharing, and communication between users.
• Notifications: Used to send updates, messages, and alerts related to your account or app activity. You can disable notifications anytime in your device settings.

2. Data Usage

Any data collected is used solely for the purpose of enabling core app features such as posting, media sharing, and user interaction. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

3. Data Storage and Security

All data is transmitted securely using HTTPS. User media files are stored securely on our servers or in app-specific directories on your device. Temporary cache files are automatically cleared as needed.

4. User Control

You can revoke camera, microphone, or media access permissions anytime through your device settings. You may also request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

5. Compliance with Google Play Policies

This app fully complies with Google Play’s data privacy and scoped storage policies. It does not use the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission or any broad “All Files Access”. Media access is limited to user-selected photos, videos, and audio files only.
